At Desifaves, our mission to provide affordable, high-quality dance attire advanced with our first partnership with a Singapore dance school. When we discovered their need for Kathak costumes and uniforms, we recognized an opportunity to offer a solution that prioritized quality, affordability, and timely delivery.
Our Approach to Custom Kathak Dance Costumes and Uniforms
After reaching out online, we shared our vision for custom dance attire. We emphasized our commitment to competitive prices and quick turnaround times. The dance school had an upcoming Kathak event and needed 100 Kathak outfits, along with 400 sets of dance uniforms consisting of pants and dupattas.
Sourcing the Right Materials
Kavitha, our dedicated founder, took the lead on this project. Consequently, she flew to India and went to Surat, the hub of fabric sourcing. There, she personally selected high-quality materials. By engaging directly with suppliers, she ensured that the fabric met our client’s expectations. Moreover, she worked closely with them to secure the best options.
Crafting the Costumes
After sourcing the fabric, Kavitha traveled to Jaipur, where we partnered with a local tailoring unit. During her week there, she oversaw the creation of a sample Kathak outfit. Thus, she made necessary adjustments to achieve the perfect flair for the twirl that is essential in Kathak performances.
The collaborative process involved constant communication with the dance school. This ensured that every detail aligned with their vision. Within two weeks, we delivered all the Kathak outfits. Following that, we delivered the remaining dance uniforms and attire within a month.
Overcoming Challenges
One of the biggest challenges was managing the logistics of shipping the costumes from India to Singapore. To address this, we set up a verification unit in Mumbai. This ensured that each piece met our quality standards before shipping. Despite these hurdles, we successfully delivered everything on time, much to the satisfaction of our client.
Showcasing Our Kathak Dance Costumes: A Celebration of Artistry
To celebrate this collaboration, we organized a photoshoot featuring local dancers. This showcased our diverse range of dance costumes, including Kathak, Bharatanatyam, and Indo-Western styles. The resulting videos garnered over 25K views on Instagram, highlighting the beauty and craftsmanship of our designs. Check out our videos here!
Looking Ahead
This successful partnership has opened doors for us to collaborate with more dance schools in Singapore. Furthermore, we’re on the verge of expanding our reach overseas. Currently, we’re in talks with several dance schools outside of Singapore, exploring opportunities to provide our unique dance attire solutions globally. Our commitment to quality and affordability resonates with educators and performers alike. Thus, we’re excited to bring our vision to a wider audience.
